any problems with deliveries from japan 16 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
hi all,
anybody recently had delays, parcels not tuning up from japan. The reason i ask is that i am expecting a "10 mini lp cd delivery" from cdjapan. They were sent 23/07/08 and as yet not arrived they were sent "registered air mail"{which is tracked until leaving japan}i have used this service loads of times and the parcels have been here within 7/8 days.

I have just emailed cdjapan with my concerns and awaiting their reply.

Are there any problems that other people have had or having.

thanks...mark in plymouth u.k.

Hi Mark,

I've had some delays too but mine has been shipped SAL so it's hard to say - SAL is hit and miss.

Sam in Sydney (who lived in Plymouth as a lad for 2 years - how's Mutley Plain?!?)

All of my deliveries from cdjapan/hmv japan & any ebayers, have all arrived within 4-5 days through EMS. However, customs quite often stop them and it can take them up to 2 weeks to communicate with you and hold you to ransom for the tax.

If posting from Japan, ALWAYS EMS as you can track to your door via parcelforce in UK.

On a customs note, I was charged 7.50 tax on 2 discs of combined value 19.00, and to add insult to injury, the admin cost for telling me this thru parcelforce was 15.00! Ouch!

Customs is a lottery most of the times. Fortunately for me with EMS in about 120 parcels only one time had it stopped and the contents was the DEVO promo box and about another 10 individual mini lps.

But the only taked the invoice from the slip bag and charged the taxes, no further charges (the only bad is that charged for the product + the shipping cost), delays, or something.

The ones that charged me for admin cost were ALWAYS DHL, Fedex, and similars and as in your case they were high charges enven for a 2 albums shipping priced at only $30.

Front cover (main) image of VICP-5442,3,4 : Emerson, Lake + Palmer : First True Japanese Mini LP Rock Release
VICP-5442,3,4 : 1994-09-21

The first three Emerson Lake and Palmer albums (self titled, Tarkus and Pictures at an Exhibition) are arguably the first true Rock Mini LPs. They were released on 21st September 1994.

These had been preceded by a much earlier Lotus and a US release of some Rolling Stones albums repackaged for Japan a few short months before these. Neither of these earlier releases was true to the original vinyl although the Stones came close.

The earliest true Minis were two series of MCA Jazz releases from March 1994 (MVCZ-26 to MVCZ-45) including this example: Death and The Flower.

MHCP-1002 : 2006-06-07

Recorded in early July 1973 this album took nearly a year to make it to streets.

One of the most elaborate record covers ever produced and probably the most elaborate so far to make it to mini LP release. It is nearly impossible to capture the splendour of this on a web site but we shall try...

WPCR-13295 : 2009-01-14

Fifth studio album, featuring Talking Heads only US Top Ten hit, Burning Down The House (including an alternative version as a bonus, and an unfinished outtake of Two Note Swivel).

This version is a reproduction of the limited edition clear vinyl version designed by artist Robert Rauschenberg, who won a Grammy Award for his work.

This box was issued by Disk Union as part of the 3rd of their 3 box releases in the early 2007. You did not need to buy boxes one (Ziggy Stardust Box and Promo Obis) or two (Low Box and Promo Obis) in order to receive the Space Oddity Box. It came with Let's Dance Box and Promo Obis.

Box 1 from a 3 boxes set. Each box is numbered. These are official releases by Universal Music. Each box set has 5 cds and 1 DVD. Each cd is in a replica mini LP sleeve. The DVD is in Surround sound. Each sliding box has a picture from 1 member of the band. On top of the boxes, you find part of the logo that is on the inside of the 2112 cd. Once you put the 3 boxes one beside another, you have the complete logo.
