Japanese Paper Sleeve Exploration Party

Words fail me on this one - because I cannot read Japanese. Being Japanese based you're likely to see the latest - hot off the presses - images of releases.

Japanese Paper Sleeve Wiki

Japanese Wiki containing most(?) releases made on mini LP in Japan (thanks to Chris V for pointing this one out).

Collectorshelp Record and CD Grading System

A fairly straightforward out and simple system originally for vinyl releases but easily adapted and applicable for replicas.

There is one notable point in this site's grading system that I disagree with.  They state that "the [jewel] boxes are not graded as they can be replaced".  There are certain CD cases (eg. green Ryko, plastic cases around the old style Rolling Stones replicas) that are near impossible to replace.

Collectorshelp Glossary of Record and CD Collecting Terms

An extensive glossary of terms used when describing CDs, vinyl, packaging, grading, technology etc. Definitions ranging from 12" to Zine.

Miscellaneous (subject specific) Links

Progressive Rock

While Japanese Mini LPs are by no means restricted to the area of "Progressive Rock" it seems that the Japanese have a particular passion for this style of music. This is an assumption based on the fact that many Japanese mini LPs have been released in this genre. More information about this music (and therefore about the music behind many of the releases you find on this site) can be found at the The Gnosis Project.

Pink Floyd and other Japanese CDs

Lucilio Batini's collection of many first pressing Japanese Mini LPs and other (non-mini) Japanese CD releases. Contains most Floyd's (including Disk Union promo obis) along with many other Mini LPs including Yes, Led Zeppelin, Tull and more.

Complete Pink Floyd Discography

Huge Pink Floyd site includes extensive country by country discography of Pink Floyd releases.

Pink Floyd Matrix and IFPI Numbers

Details most official Pink Floyd releases from around the world with details of matrix and IFPI numbers. Useful given that most Floyd CDs do not have the TOCP number stamped on the legitemate CDs.

Zappa Completist's Guide

Exhaustively exhausting.
