A fairly straightforward out and simple system originally for vinyl releases but easily adapted and applicable for replicas. There is one notable point in this site's grading system that I disagree with. They state that "the [jewel] boxes are not graded as they can be replaced". There are certain CD cases (eg. green Ryko, plastic cases around the old style Rolling Stones replicas) that are near impossible to replace. |

 VICP-5442,3,4 : 1994-09-21 The first three Emerson Lake and Palmer albums (self titled, Tarkus and Pictures at an Exhibition) are arguably the first true Rock Mini LPs. They were released on 21st September 1994. These had been preceded by a much earlier Lotus and a US release of some Rolling Stones albums repackaged for Japan a few short months before these. Neither of these earlier releases was true to the original vinyl although the Stones came close. The earliest true Minis were two series of MCA Jazz releases from March 1994 (MVCZ-26 to MVCZ-45) including this example: Death and The Flower. |

 UICY-94827 : 2012-09-12 Universal Music : Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Mike Oldfield featuring the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players) and using the remaster audio made in UK in 2012. The cardboard sleeve faithfully replicates the UK first press LP plus a cardboard sleeve jacket based on a new design. Comes with a description written by Mike Oldfield himself and lyrics. Part of a two-album Mike Oldfield SHM-CD cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring albums "Platinum" and "Q.E.2." |
