ac/dc question 14 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello all, newbie here.....just started my collection of mini-lps about 6 months ago. I think they are just awesome!!
Anyways, I just purchased AC/DC "FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK"..... SICP 1708. My question is why is "SICP 1708" not etched around the spindle hole? The number "PLDA-15X" is there instead. Also, why is there sometimes a different number etched around the spindle hole instead of the number on the spline of the obi?? Especially on some SHMs' I've recently acquired. For example Humble Pie "Smokin'" SHM-CD.... number on the OBI spline is UICY-94069 and on the disc around spindle hole reads UICY-93222?? I've seen this on some of my other mini-lps.
I apologize if this is a repeat question as it probably is..... but I couldn't find the thread.
Thanks!

Not sure about ac/dc but UICY-94069 is the Mini LP version of the earlier SHM-CD jewel case edition which had a catalogue number of UICY-93222.

Exactly the same CD just different packaging.

Die Cut Covers :

Die cutting of the cover image or inserts is probably the most common technique employed to create gimmick covers. It's probably also in most cases the cheapest.

There are thousands of die cut covers. Here are a few of the more popular and best known releases.
