I bought it. First I live in Russia, and secondly I liked both of these discs are made.

The IFPI code may be a fake.

One more thing, on the lower left hand corner of the cutout kit it states "Printed in England". And on the lower right hand corner of the innersleeve it states "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN/PATENTS APPLIED FOR"

On the middle of the spine it reads "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band". On the top of the back cover it states " (P)1969 Long Play 33 1/3 r.p.m. PCS 7027 Stereo". On the lower hand side of the back cover it reads "E.M.I.Records/(The Gramophone Co. Ltd.)/Hayes.Middlesex.England/Made and Printed in Great Britain/.../This is a mono recording./A splendid time is guaranteed for all". And on the right of the bottom it also states "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd."

This series of Russian release consists 9 Beatles albums that are "With the Beatles", "A hard day's night", "Help", "Sgt. Pepper", "the Beatles", "Yellow submarine", "Magic mystery tour", "Abbey road" and "Let it be". In my opinion, this is the best beatles' mini lp release in the world, even better than the Japanese releases. The price is also much cheaper. The best thing is that they keep everything exact the same as the original UK/US Lp releases including the original catalogue numbers or/and printing companies. They don't change them to Russian release numbers or/and simply state "printed and made in Russian" as Japanese releases do. One thing we, as the collector, should keep in mind is that they all have the IFPI code on the back of the disc, which means they are all legal copies. As for this "Sgt. Pepper" in particular, it has the original flipback as you can see on the opened gatefold which is the good thing. The bad thing is the shape and the stock of the innersleeve are not quite right to the original UK Lp release, and the worst thing is that there is no "Parlophone/EMI" logo on the back cover. I believe the early version of this release had it and later on for some reason they remove it. I hope we can find the early version someday on eBay.

Cover:

Gatefold with the lyrics printed on the back cover - apparently a first for a popular music album.

Cover by MC Productions and The Apple staged by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth photographed by Michael Cooper.

Wax figures by Madame Tussauds.

Some years later Peter Blake wrote: "The album sleeve was the first to feature printed lyrics, and it was one of the first to have a gatefold sleeve. It was also the first to have anything other than a plain inner bag too, the first pressing coming in a slightly psychedlic sleeve design by Simon and Marijke of the Fool. And we also had a crad with the cut-outs, which I originally intended to be a small packet with badges abd pencils and such like. That was stopped because it would have caused EMI big marketing problems."

Inserts (as per original):
  1. Inner sleeve (designed by "The Fool" creators of other covers including POCE-1033 - Incredible String Band (The) - The 5000 Spirits or The Layers of the Onion (1967 / 2006));
  2. cardboard sheet of cut out bits and pieces for becoming your very own Sgt. Pepper (credited on the bottom right hand side of the card to Peter Blake/ Jann Haworth).
Inserts (additional):Double sided card with each side of the record label.
Lyrics:Russian and English on 2 by 2 double sided foldout.

The cover looks a little yellower than my original mono version but overall a great addition to any collection (and this site) and hopefully a taste of things to come from Japan one day.
