The seventh fateful album from Donald and Walter. The album was plagued with technical troubles and contractual issues and was the last album issued by the pair for many years. It was another 17 years before the pair got together again resulting in a "Two Against Nature" in early 2000. A number of solo albums intervened as well as some joint projects with one man producing the other's work.

Editor Comments

This album was in production when MVC purchased the ABC label that Steely Dan had released all their previous albums. This was touted as one of the main reasons for the delay in release of the album.

It's possible also that this is why this re-release comes under a different catalogue series number with a different style of obi even though all releases are from Universal Music Japan.
