Godley + Creme - Consequences

UICY-9170 (2001)

Hugely unsuccessful self-indulgent debut triple album (double CD) box set from Godley and Creme of 10cc fame. Its total lack of commercial focus was its downfall. This was launched into punk-rock British charts and was effectively a radio-play with musical interludes. The record company re-released the album music (minus the play) in a bid to salvage some financial return. The mini lp release has 2 discs as opposed to 3LPs as original, but keeps the 3 original inner disc sleeves with lyrics. Well packaged with original style colour booklet with recording notes by the artists.

NB: As you can see Consequences is actually by Lol Creme/Kevin Godley, not Godley & Creme. This was because the guys originally thought that they should be listed alphabetically. Maybe this is one of the reasons why this didn't chart!!

Three inner sleeves with lyrics printed although pretty well illegible.

18 page colour booklet with images and text describing the background to the story (about Mr Blint), background to the production and "day in the life" type snippets of the process of the creation and marketing of the album and (of course) the Gizmo (a device applied to the bridge of an electric guitar to create orchestral type noises). Snippets start 12th October 1976 and end on 17 June 1977.
