It would have been nice to have included a copy of the original Harvest label, as DP are from the UK and it was first released there, the US version coming a week later. oli_zapp (Sat, 09 Feb 2008 (22:29)) hello everybody, it is amazing, there is a guy of the record company who has a order to restore and rebuild this great rock album in the mini lp style, ok. but what happen's ? some day's ago i bought this replica (second edit.)and and the first thing was a scream, but not the scream of ian gillian, it was mine. the classic opener "speed king" is burned down without the powerfull opening instrumental intro, speed king begin's with the singing of ian gillian. this is not the right purple in rock album... this is a "disaster". if you like the nice lp replica cover with the right album, go and buy also a normal cd and change the disc. sam2095 (Wed, 27 Sep 2006 (08:44)) I cannot possibly write a realistic review of this album because I originally bought it in 1971 or 2 second hand and within days (or perhaps even hours) swapped it for a third hand version of Led Zeppelin III (which I still proudly own even though it was virtually unplayable when I took ownership). I cannot recall why I swapped it for LZIII (I may have been bullied into the deal) but it's likely that this (along with my introduction to Aqualung shortly afterwards) shaped my listening habits. For better or worse, Deep Purple in Rock was my first ever rock album purchase, even if I did only own for a very short time, which is why I just had to have the mini-LP version.
