Zappa, Frank - Sheik Yerbouti

VACK-1236 (2002)

Heavily overdubbed live and studio performances originally released as a double LP. As with most Zappa CDs the audio differs from the original (see below) but the cover is faithfully reproduced here with two inner bags albeit on a single CD.

Out of print (but other items from this artist may be available)

Original LP release:1979.03
Audio quality etc:For this remaster (1990/1995) Frank merged the first 3 sides into one continuous track (sort of) so be prepared for a suprise if you've only ever heard this on vinyl. "I'm So Cute" is shorter but "The Sheik Yerbouti Tango" gains a minute. "I'm So Cute" was the last track on side 1 - so instead of fading and then building up again it now fades and then cuts straight into "Jones Crusher". "The Sheik Yerbouti Tango" reportedly has an extra minute (but it must be in the middle because it starts and ends the same as always) now cuts straight into "Baby Snakes". A little disconcerting for those of us who got used to the break while we walked over to change the record (although it was a A/D B/C set of LPs).
