Russian White Album fake or no? 16 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone, I'm new to collecting this type of medium, just as I thought I wouldn't get hung up on collecting again!

Anyway before I found this remarkable site I bid for, and won (I'm now wondering why) The Beatles White Album
from a supplier 'Storage' (Larisa.rem) in Russia. I'm waiting for the item to arrive, so far it all seems very efficient
but I'm now wondering if it will be a fake after reading stuff on this site.
Anyone know if this supplier is good or not?

Hi John and welcome,

No idea about the seller but I'd say it's pretty certain you have bought a Russian copy of the White Album.

Is this it (or one like it) - 380016798334?

There's nothing wrong with Russian CDs generally as far as quality but they do not have the quality of Japanese releases and the issue of who gets royalties is always debatable.

Thanks, Sam.

If it´s from Larisa for sure is russian.

I have both (the japanese and the russian) in the table right now. The russian is well done and the reason I have it is because is one the black CD (also in the data surface) series with red, black and blue obi with text in russian.

Recently I uploaded the original 30th anniversary limited edition, you can watch it here.

It has a transparent plastic hard case (last picture).

And the russian has an obi like this one:

The legal origin of this release is questionable but I find this serieve very collectible because the black CDs and almost is not trying to lie you replicating the japanese obi.

Also you can find another version with black obi red japanese lettering and the UK flag on top of the obi. Is a russian fake. And maybe more fakes on sale.

As a rule check the page salerussia.com before to buy at ebay. If a product is in that page is a fake product. So if you find the same at ebay is fake also.

When buying any album included in that page we carefull with the seller. We have here a list of trusted sellers, check it.

Believe me, is a cheap lesson. Must be the first and last.

If you are a Beatles lover (I´m not, but I´m a minis collector) we awared the only Beatles Mini LP released in Japan is the White Album 30th A LE that I linked in my previous post. So don´t search for more Beatles mini lp by now.

Guess what.. As I hadn't received the mini cd and just paid for it via paypal I challenged the seller to confirm that the item was genuine.
Today I received a refund with no questions.

Thanks for your help.... what a great site!

Some The Beatles Mini LP CDs at salerussia.com are not replicas of Japanese editions, but absolutely original ones. I just got Magical Mystery Tour UK 2CD & Magical Mystery Tour Australian from salerussia.com - great releases, done with great care to details. it wasn't my first order there, so I can only recommend this seller - it's quite fast, honest and trustworthy.

Hi Brian and welcome!

While it's true that they are often of good quality, the major complaint is that it is most likely that the artists etc get no royalties for the sale.

Well, yes, but if we're speaking about the collecting first, being a collector it's always up to you whether to buy some rare and well made item for your collection or not, isn't it?))

If you are a collector and you want to support the band - ok, buy their official T-Shirt or any other official release, and your fave band will get some $ in royalties. Then, if you are a collector and want to expand your collection with something rare as well - ok, then order something rare and add it to your collection.

In that way everyone's happy, isn't it?)

Front cover (main) image of EMICD-11228 : Pink Floyd : Oh By The Way: European Box Set
EMICD-11228 : 2007-11-26

16 CD box set - being 14 studio albums including 2 doubles.

According to Pink Floyd Brain Damage site there were a few glitches with this release, the most notable being a misprinting of the inner bag for the second CD in "The Wall".

There are also cases of an album being missed out and duplicates in their places.

The later Japanese release of this box set is basically identical to this box set.

Poor quality fakes exist for this set - more details below.

The original Japanese individual releases are regarded as being of a much higher quality to either of these box sets.

You can see a YouTube video of this set on the videos page.
